I’m wondering if Lumberjocks ever gave consideration to a live chat area. If so, is it in the plans for the near future. -- There is no such thing as scrap wood!, http://www.saltrivergallery.com |

It has been discussed in the past and he had some live chat events where someone answered questions I belive. Not seen one for a while. -- We must guard our enthusiasm as we would our life - James Krenov |

I think the the last the last live chat was about a year ago – some IM or something like that would be nice. -- Tony - All things are possible, just some things are more difficult than others! - SKYPE: Heron2005 (http://www.poydatjatuolit.fi) |

I may be wrong but I thought when this was brought up before the concern was that if questions started getting answered in live chat there would be no way of storing and then sharing that information with others as is the case with posts like this. Maybe I’m wrong but I thought that was mentioned anyway. -- Better to say nothing and be thought the fool... then to speak and erase all doubt. |

I’ve seen in the past on some live chats, the conversation was converted into a written format. Unless there is a software program for that, it would be a difficult and time consuming process. Maybe Martin can develop the software and then retire off it! (after sending me a commission for the idea)LOL Lee -- by Lee A. Jesberger http://www.prowoodworkingtips.com http://www.ezee-feed.com |

There was the woodworker’s web before and it was fun. It never seemed to interfere with postings and gave folks a chance to get to know each other a bit better. The trick is to do it in a way that people remain civil. -- making sawdust.... |

There are several basic free IM services out there. ICQ and AOL IM are a couple that I remember. All you have to do is sign up and then give whomever you want your ID and they add you as a friend/buddy. It has been a LONG time since I used either and I guess I will go see what I can find out about them now. P.S. I think microsoft/windows/MSN has a version too. -- Adrian ..... We had two live chats one year ago together with transcripts posted:
The main problem was that the whole process was quite time consuming and not many folks joined at that time. But I think that regular topical chats will reappear in the future… -- Martin, http://lumberjocks.com | My Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/people/Martin_Sojka/1357216976 |
