So Wife and I bought a new bed (matress set), it is MUCH taller than our older mattress set. Now we need a bench to sit on to get dressed since we can no longer easily sit on the bed. That said I have chose to build a Simple piano style bench. 4 legs, rails tenoned into the legs and a padded seating surface based off MDF. I was thinking about making it around 3.5 feet long but was wondering if I need to be concerend about a center support if I went that long.

Anyone got a good set of Piano bench plans? Also not to sure if tennon jointery is the way to go.

Suggestions welcome.

With sufficient rails, and solidly attached legs, I don’t forsee any probs.
