Topic tags/keywords: ebony wood

Hey Folks . . .

I am thinking about making a few G&G inspired pieces . . . and for that I need ebony.

Anyone buy any on line? I know that I cannot get it locally or even in the province for that matter.

One suggestion would be ebony pen blanks. They should be available from a number of on-line suppliers (Rockler, Woodcraft, Craft Supplies)

you could also try Goosebay lumber, I’ve ordered from there a few times. if all you need is pegs then you can get ebony cutoffs for $5 a pound. just to put it out there though they are not like cutoffs from a board, they are rough cutoffs. carl’s nice there, ask for him and tell him you want some thicker ebony cutoffs.

Zuki,

You may have issues with customs ordering from the states, paying duty etc. You may want to consider A&M Wood in Ontario. Here’s their link …

http://www.amwoodinc.com/

And the link for their ebony prices …yikes! http://www.amwoodinc.com/canada/priceListsFrame.html

Wow, at those prices you may be better off paying duty! But I’m sure they have some shortcut pieces that they sell for less, hopefully.
