Lie Nielson tools
Lee Valley tools

I believe both give free catalogs (not 100% sure about LN). Their websites are both very good and both companies have superior customer service.

Besides what Besty listed.

Tools for Woodworking

Craftsman Studio

Blue Spruce Toolworks

di legno woodshop supply

No catalogs from these sites, but they have some nice tools and prices. I’ve purchased form each of these sites and have been very happy with what I got.

traditional woodworker, is a much smaller outfit but I like the personalized service and they also have a wonderful catalog on line as well as a free printed catalog

I buy from Craftsman Studio which Mike lists above and have very good experience. I have also purchased from LN directly Craftsman Studio’s delivery time is much faster.

Craft Supplies USA is a favorite for woodturning tools and supplies http://www.woodturnerscatalog.com

Traditional Woodworker – http://www.traditionalwoodworker.com/index.php

If your in Europe or your name is Tonyhttp://www.fine-tools.com/index.htm

Oh and the free catalogs from Lee Valley are to die for. Craft Supplies USA has a great catalog as well. If you like machines, the free Grizzly tool catalog is a good browse

The LN Catalog is small but has some pretty photos.

Don’t forget the Old Tools Mailing List, which is a great resource for old tools, which are in many cases as good as if not superior to brand new ones (not to mention much cheaper!).

Great way to get into infill planes at a lower cost than dovetailed ones.

The small smoother pictured on his site is sitting on my bench and is easily the best cutting plane I’ve ever used. Works just as well against the grain as with.

Doug, those Brese Planes are sweet…. Did you build yours from a Kit? Can you post some photos?

My cams macro abilities suck. This one pictured on Ron’s website is actually the one he shipped me (and threw in the extra steel sole option and ebony cap infill as well). His photos are much better quality than mine so I haven’t even bothered try to compete photo-wise
http://www.breseplane.com/Small_Smoothers.html

I didn’t build mine as Ron was just rolling the kits out at the time. I think he threw in my extras just so he could get a few pics of a completed one with the options. He’s also in the process of making the larger infill available in kit form but that may be a couple more months. There is an outstanding writeup of building one of the kits (w/ mods) on this site http://oudluthier.blogspot.com/
but it’s interwoven with other stuff as well.

Geez – Brian’s post reminded me of some good wooden ones as well. I picked up the little Pocket Plane and the Finish Smoother thru a WW forum classified a couple years ago and these work great.
http://www.knight-toolworks.com/wooden.htm#Coffin
The pocket plane has been extremely handy. Even though it’s not a low angle plane, I had better results planing purpleheart endgrain with it than either of my LN block planes.
