I bought a Fein Turbo 2 shop vac and am wondering what filter combos everybody or anybody is using?

It came with the $79 cloth bag but no canister filter, it is listed as an option.

I used to clean up some sheetrock mess and am thinking it was a mistake. That cloth filter is about 1/4 thick full of dust. I thought they were the same cost as the canister filters and intended to throw it away. Now I have to clean this mess.

Anyway what do you use in your vacs to help with clean up?? I would think garbage bag would clog off cloth filter?
They sell paper filters for coarse stuff and i will assume the finer stuff filters through to the cloth or optional canister?

By the way they are very quiet but do not have the suction of my old craftsmen but then again I can still hear.

options? Thanks!!

Dust deputy comes to mind, but I’m not sure how it would handle sheetrock.

I have 2, a Turbo III and a Turbo 1. I gave the cloth bag away to a fellow who needed one and found out what they cost (!). I don’t recommend the Fein filters, they told me (over the phone) you needed to use bags with their filters to protect the filter. No thanks. A better choice is the Gore Clean Stream filter, the one made for the Craftsman (called Red Stripe model or something) fits right over the Fein cage. You need to seal the bolt hole on the bottom, but works great, has excellent filtration, and is very robust in construction. I do also use drywall bags on both vacs when needed. The Shop Vac brand fit, and aren’t nearly expensive as the Fein. 2 cautions: my Feins are the older models with the tanks they used to have, not sure how this would work on the newer design. Second, the Gore filter is larger than the Fein, so you loose some tank space…..even so, it strikes me as a better option. I tried to post a pic, but the forum software keeps truncating the right side…still you might a feel for the difference in diameter. The large filter is the Gore, the small is a Fein.
