Anyone know how the average Joe can buy one of these at the sale prices shown?? Online retailer prices are higher than the sale prices shown here. Does one have to buy direct from a brick and mortar dealer??

I would take that flyer to your local Steel City dealer. Those are very good prices.

I couldn’t find many online like the ones on the flyer! Look close at the model numbers, I think they are playing games with those. Two saws can be almost the same thing, maybe just a small difference in packaging or an extra accessory, or a shorter or longer fence.

Amazon has the contractors saw with granite, maybe if you emailed them a scan of your flier they would honor it. Otherwise, contact SC and ask to buy direct.

I’d try contacting SC and asking them where you can obtain that pricing. AFAIK, Lowes and HD are now able to order SC saws. The pricing I’ve seen from Lowes has been pretty good….ie: SC35990CS for $619, SC36990C for $727, but I think it varies by region.

I have a local distributor that I bought from instead of Lowes or Home Depot. Check the Steel City web site to see if you have a local distributor near you. Mine actually had the saw in stock. Most Lowes or Home depot stores wil have to order it for you. BOTH of the big box stores should price match the manufacturer’s sales flyer. Print it out and take it with you.

I got my 35990G for $649 a couple weeks ago. That’s the price in the flyer.

If you end up at Lowes… before you go there…. register on their web site as someone who is moving. You don’t actually have to sell your house and move, just lie. :) You’ll get a 10% off any purchase coupon in your email. If you can get them to price match AND honor their own 10% off coupon, you’ll get a really good deal.

I was originally going after the cast iron model. It was not expected in stock until late March. You can’t get the CS model (steel wings) and add the cast wings later unless maybe some aftermarket cast wings will work.

The CS model has the miter slots milled into the main table. The C model (cast iron) and the G model (granite) have the seams for the wings IN the miter slot. This apparently gives some people nightmares, but I figured out how to get it together and could take mine apart and do it again in about 15 minutes per wing… maybe less.

So I bought the G model because A) it was only $50 more than the CS model and B) I didn’t think I could add wings later $50 or less. Might as well just get ‘em now.

Don’t buy it ! read the reviews. Seems like any one who bought one regreted it. then it was a fight to get your money back Check tablesaw reviews, you will get an eye opener.

Grumpy – Can you provide a link to those reviews?
