I am going to the Grand Canyon and staying in flagstaff, az. Are there ant LJ’s out there that can share with me any unique lumber from that area so that I may pick some up and make a project to remember the trip.
All suggestions are welcomed.

Hey David, I have never seen anything made from pinon (except fires). Is it an attractive wood? Does it get big enough to mill?

The dried skeleton of the jumping cactus is used for things like lamps.

Thanks for the information everyone.
I have pine and scrub oak here.
I will see if there is anything else when I get there. I’m just needing enough for maybe a clock that will stay set on that time zone, or picture frame.
