Topic tags/keywords: scroll saw

I have a Delta 40-690 scroll saw, it is a year old and I’m having trouble keeping the blade tit. I switched the top and bottom thumbscrews around and that did nothing. then I removed/switched the set screws that the thumbscrews tighten into to and the blade still comes loose. Any ideas on what to do?
Dan

Do you clean the blades? They have oil residue from manufacturing. Use some mineral spirits on a sponge or rag. Some times you also have to clean the set screws as well. If the screws have been well used they might get rounded over or a groove set in. Try sanding (or grinding) the screw flat again, but make sure it really is straight or you will get more problems. You can also replace the screws if needed.
