I have been offered a huge willow tree for free but have never used or seen any lumber from a willow. Does anyone have any pictures and advice about how willow works in furniture. thanks guys

I don’t know what kind of willow but I’ve got some river willow. The wood is pink and almost all of the trees were cut down following the 2nd world war.

The river willow was and is still used for wooden artificial limbs .

I’ve always heard that Willow is too soft to use for anything too serious.. Its a carver’s dream, though (think the “Willow Tree” figurines that apparently every woman loves)

thanks for the advice/info, think I’ll pass on the willow as it isn’t suitable for what I want to make.
