This is a follow up to an earlier post asking for advice on what additional items to purchase to augment my workshop.

OK, so I narrowed down my options to the following five groups of stuff. Each totals around $1,800 and I’d like to know which group everyone would pick if they were in my shoes:

Group #1

What are you trying to make, and which elements of your lists are non-negotiable?

I ask because some of your groups have a jointer and some have a dust collector and some have neither. If you need a jointer now, you have to choose a group that has it, and if you don’t need a jointer now, you have more flexibility in options that what you’ve presented…

This is a very wide group to chose from, because we don’t know what you have. Look at your up coming projects and try to work from there.

Edited to add – with what you’ve said in the previous thread, I would suggest putting an 8” jointer on your “definite” list, and then moving on from there. I have the Grizzly 8” and opted for the spiral cutterhead. I do like it but I haven’t run it enough yet for it to get dull and need bit-changing.
