Maybe this is not so devastating after all. I am going to cut into a lot more to see what is really here

I was heartbroken when I first cut into this pile. It was full of holes of some kind. I have now seen a lot of beetles in the wood. I am thinking that it will be quite a wonderful thing to make a lot of projects now.

Looks like it would be a whole lot like turning Ambrosia Maple.

Hey, I have a big burl i’m getting ready to cut or remove . I am told it is pecan. Can you tell me is there a market this type of burl. I would appecate any info you have. Hope to hear from you soon.

There is a market for everything if you find the right person. Wood that is burled is even more special. From what I can gather from the pic, You found some real magic. I am always scouring the woods and highways for these kinds of treasures. There are a lot of people who buy this for hundreds for even small pieces. Good luck with it my friend.
