So I have this used planer that’s due for a knife change. I don’t have the manual or any tools that may or may not have come with it. Anyway, just wondering if anyone has experience with this and if they could confirm the process for me. I found a nice video that outlines the process for a different model. So I’m planning to buy a gauge, make a jig for it and use a regular wrench for the job. Am I on the right track? Any tips would be appreciated.

I have one Rob!...Have for some odd years now!
I am sorry to say that the person who sold it to you should have also had the setup/blade change fixture which Ref number 78 on the parts list & the part number at Delta is listed as 1343917 Knife Gauge!
Hope that helps and happy planing

Thanks Wiz. Hmm, do you think a shop made one will do or is there something special about this factory piece that makes it a must have? I hope to get by without it.

Have your say...
