Most any type of joint will work. What do you like?

My question is what do expect from the box other than protection of the contents. Is it going to be handled like the rest of the sound equipment packed up and put in a trailer, are you going to carry it on your person and want it to look really sharp? You have to say what you expect, in order to give the answer you need. There are all kinds of woods that would work, but some do not look as good as others.
But like Gary said any type of joint will work.

yes i want it to be a show piece it will not be treated like the normal flight case boxes.

i want it to be polished wood mabye ith an inlay.

it neeeds to be about the size of a breifcase have a handle and some sort of protective inside like some sort of foam.

and for joints i would like to do either a double dovetail or finger jiont with contrasting woods so that it stands out.

sorry i did not state this before.
