Hi all,

I’m building my wife a banana hanger for the kitchen. This is a stand type thing you hang bananas off of to keep them fresh longer. I’m building it out of zebra wood and would sure like some advice on how you would finish it. I really want the wood to “pop” like it does naturally. Thanks for any advice in advance. Also, I’m new to woodworking so simple is good. Thanks all.

Welcome to LJs rlrobinhood!
Zebra wood is a beautiful wood and can also have gnarly grain going every which way it seems. Hopefully you’ll have better luck than I’ve had working with it.
I like using Watco natural oil on my projects. Maybe finish with a poly top coat.
Have fun with the banana hanger.

Have your say...
