Hi Guys,

First let me start by saying I’m a complete novice to woodworking. I have only built a coffee table and TV bench so far. Currently, I am building a back bar, and need some hinge help. The unit will have to cabinets with 24” doors. The doors are inset about 4” from the frame. What type of hinge should I use?

Thanks guys

Hey Danny, how will these doors interact with the frame? Are they flush within it or do they sit on top of it? I think you have a lot of options, so you might want to narrow down your desired look. Then, your pals here will help you. Do you want the hinge to be visible or invisible? If visible, do you want it to be decorative? What color metal? How much weight will it hold? Would you like it to be self closing? Are you comfortable mortising or do you need no-mortise hinges? Do you like euro hinges?
Answer those and someone smarter than me will definitely hook you up. Welcome to LJ and good luck!
