Topic tags/keywords: question router

Does anyone have one of these (Rockler Router Lift FX) and if so what do you think about it? Does it fix other brands of routers besides the ones listed (Porter-Cable 690/890 series, Bosch 1617-16-18, DeWalt* 610, 616, 618)? If anyone has used one with any other brands I would love to hear about your experience too. I’m thinking about picking one up for round $150.

I have one of these and basically like it, but after awhile it started slipping down slightly during use. This is an expensive thing. There is an adjustment to tighten it up, but the instructions could be clearer. I haven’t had time to adjust it yet, but to be honest, I think I tried to take off too much wood in one pass.

I have one and have not had any problems with it, about 4 years old. I have the Bosch 1617 in mine. You would need to check the diameter of the router to see if yours would fit. The only thing I don’t like is the Rockler plates are not the standard 9 1/4 X 11 3/4 size ( at least mine is not). I bought one of the phenolic JoinTech off ebay and had to make an insert for this lift. I actually got it just about perfect, but this is not ideal.
