Just watched a recent episode of the Colbert Report, and it had a whole segment on Sawstop and its inventor, and that he is trying to get all tablesaws to incorporate saw stop technology. Thoughts?

I am sure this will not happen until the inventor Steve Gass no longer controls the rights for the technology. Any other company that uses this technology would have to pay him royalties and I’m sure they are not jumping at the chance to give money away, even for safety…

This of course is my point of view. Unfortunately, the bottom line trumps safety every time… that being said, I’d hate to see the price of a PM2000 with sawstop tech on board… although I would want one!
