Topic tags/keywords: question

I will be going to Hill AFB, Ut for a couple weeks in March. I was wondering if anyone can tell me some places close to the base to purchase lumber. I want to compare prices of hardwoods (domestic and exotic) and maybe buy some if it is cheaper than here. Also want to see if I can find anything different than we have around here. My choices here are limited unless I order it. I’m driving my truck, just in case I find something I can’t live without. I am going to Salt Lake City to visit the Woodcraft store. (I think my wife is a little nervous) LOL Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Ken! I didn’t realize they had a wood shop. I’ll have to check it out when I get there.

There is really very little selectio in Utah, as there aren’t any woods really grown there. There is MacBeath in Salt Lake. Other than that, I only really know about Pearson Lumber in Provo. There might be a couple of small places around, but I don’t know of them.

@ Ken Yea, the Goatee was the first thing on my to-do list. I will have been retired for 5 yrs. on the Feb 28. After 22. Wow, time sure flies.

@ Ripthorn Thanks for the info. I’ll have to check out MacBeath when I go to Salt Lake and I’ll check out the local area when I get there.
