I’m just curious if anyone else has a strange attraction to this wood. Any chance I have I use the stuff. I love how it looks, smells and machines. I bought a decent size piece a few months back 60”x9×2.75” at less than $12 a bf. The price was the main reason I bought it. Since then I have made a small box, a serving tray a couple of bowls and a couple of handles with it. Initially I thought the lack of “glueability” was the only downside, but in reality it forced me to use my dovetail jig and other methods of joinery which I am really pleased about in the end. It’s almost an obsession now. I don’t have much of that large piece left. I am dreading the day it’s gone and I no longer can see, smell and touch that wonderful wood! Maybe Ill just keep a small cutoff on my night stand! -- Patrick, Helicopters don't fly. They beat the air into submission. |

Yah, thats not weird at all. But then again I have a habit of talking to the wood when Im working. Sometimes pleading, sometimes praising. @chrisstef – no chocolates or card, but I did order it a new woodslicer blade this morning. Think that’s over the top for a Valentines day gift??? -- Patrick, Helicopters don't fly. They beat the air into submission. |

Sooooo many jokes.. I’ll just leave it at the fact that it is, in fact, beautiful lumber. -- Dan, Rochester, NY |

Well, you could send me the off cuts. That is one way you could lessen the agony. I’ll put it to good use. -- bill@magraphics.us |

I think you should make yourself a “worry stone” from a small offcut to keep in your pocket, for when you need a pick-me-up! |

I’ve never used cocobolo, but I’ve had fantasies about using it. I really like how it looks. -- Tyrone - Canada, BC |

I can’t say there is any problem being attracted to cocobolo, many women are attracted to cocochanel. -- Roger-R, Republic of Texas. "Always look on the Bright Side of Life" - An eyeball to eyeball confrontation with a blind person is as complete waste of Time. |

There’s a show on TV called “My Strange Attraction”. I didn’t watch it, but did see the commercial for it…had a guy who was attracted to his car…except he took it waaaay further than I can mention on this family oriented site. Hope your attraction to cocobolo is more platonic as I heard people can get skin rashes from it… -- Rob, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario |

Charlie you are right. Those projects were completed and put into immediate heavy use by my wifey(she might love Cocobolo more than I). Here’s some pics I just took of those:
