I’m interested in growing my own vegetables. I have thought about a greenhouse, but got sidetracked unto aquaponics. Although the aquaponic system can also be conducted in a greenhouse environment, I am currently operating from within my house. The idea of growing fish and vegetables for self sustenance is very appealing and a greenhouse would be a step forward if the operation got bigger, say for commercial growing. I especially like the idea of growing without the use of soil, fertilizers or insecticides. Aquaponics can provide food year round regardless of the weather.

at GardenTenders, we were talking about such a set-up just recently.
The idea of using fish is very intriguing!

I use the green house concept to get an early start with my seedlings. A wooden frame with shelves a light bulb and covered in plastic is about all you need in the south to make it work.
