Still searching for a band saw…
saw a powermatic, 15 years old with a kreg fence and resaw . Says it’s in good working condition.
He is asking $500. Any thoughts?

Will he let you do some test cuts? His idea of working condition might be different from yours.

I am sure I could try it out, but I can get a new jet or rikon 14” for about $700 and wondered if this was a better. THe new stuff is not always the best

That’s a lot of bandsaw for $500, but the motor, bearings and all other moving parts have 15 years of use on them. And if it comes with a resaw, you know it did a lot of heavy-duty work. Not trying to change your mind, but I would definitely ask for a test cut process, and if you can do a resaw. If it does what it should, it’s a fair deal.
