Some scumbag broke into my house almost 2 weeks ago and cleaned me out. Just got this computer fixed so I had one to use. He stole 2 others, 2 cameras, 3 guns, lots of jewelry, antique pocket watch, lots of other stuff. Also had stuff I had just brought home from the bank, safety box, to sell as part of my retirement. He got all that too.
Hope none of you have such luck!

Thanks for the thoughts, David. May need you to make me a new set of teeth….I’m going to grit these down to nubbs
Don’t think so, Joe. Really small town. I know all those folks in the bank. I think the scumbag just got lucky.

Boy Gary, I hate to hear that. That is the ultimate trespass on ones right to privacy and property. Hope the law gets the guy quickly.

As a law enforcement officer myself I see the misery these “people” create every day. Unfortunately the courts don’t seem to consider these crimes very seriously judging by the punishments they hand out.

My elderly mother was burgled on the night I had my wedding reception with all the jewellery my father bought her over the years stolen as was my dads military campaign medals…...ILooking back, ‘m so glad I didn’t find out who it was as I would be sitting on the other side of the bars right now.

That sucks!
My house was burgled once. I never did find out who. I suspect that it was teenagers because they didn’t touch the tools. They just took a shotgun, money and electronics. The thing that I miss the most were the pictures of my son that were undeveloped in the camera case. Insurance paid what they paid but it couldn’t fix the hole in my gut.
I hope they catch the person who took your stuff, and I hope you get it back. The small town might be a help, because people talk.
Best wishes,

-- Mel,

That’s flat out horrible news Gary. I know no place is safe from low life’s, but I agree with you… Small community like yours… well I wouldn’t of expected it either. I guess no place is safe now a days.

With that being said you know I’m right down the road from you (as far as Texas goes…lol) and let me know if you need any help with anything. You got my number…

Hope they find them and they get whats coming to them 10 fold… Just flat out not right!

That shouldn’t happen in Texas, where I’m from. That’s one bold criminal, pulling that crap in the Lone Star State. When I lived in New Orleans, I came to expect it. Someone once pulled off my burglar bars with what I can only imagine was a truck. To my best calculation, it happened during daylight.
.
This is terrible. At least you weren’t home to make it worse.

Being robbed is a horrible feeling. Bad enough they take things that you have worked hard to get, it is the feeling of being personally violated is the real kicker. When I got robbed years ago, I had an idea that it was a certain shady character that a friend brought over to my apartment. We were going out of town for the weekend and he knew it. Unfortunately the police couldn’t prove it was him. I lost pretty much everything of any value at all, right down to the microwave. To this day if I ever see that guy….. I’ll probably snap.

I am sorry that you are going through this.

I was robbed about 15 years ago. I will never forget the feeling of walking into my own house and seeing stuff knocked over and strewn all over the place. It took a long while for me to discover all the things that were gone.

First my sympathies. It is a terrible feeling to know that your home has been violated in this way.

Our home was broken in to and we were robbed over 30 years ago. I never felt the same way about our home after that.

I wish you strength to deal with this loss – both the physical loss of property and the emotional pain.

Oh, Man.

I’ve been there, too, Gary—a few times.

Few things suck as badly, that don’t involve physical harm to us or our loved ones.

I hope you come out of this okay, and … can get past the devastation in fairly short order.

I’m sorry.
