We have a ranch in Eastern Oregon and have quite a few species of hardwood trees we are thinking of sawing. Some of these trees produce a lot of waste but we are going to saw on weekends and already have crawlers, front end loaders. We need to buy a planer. Just wondering what the market is. Any comments are helpful.

I make a run to Portland every spring, and buy from a few guys w/ kilns and sawmills, around there. I am a hobby buyier, not much volume. The guys over there seem to be doing ok, but they have a large area to draw from. Maybe if in the future you get some cut, advertize on here and I would love to have a look.

Where in Eastern Oregon? I’m located about 35 miles north of Spokane, WA. I might be interested in some larger purchases if the cuts were good and the price right. You can contact me directly via email don(at)
