Topic tags/keywords: scroll saw dewalt 788 deals

WoodCraft has a deal on with the DeWalt 788 20 inch scroll saw (top of the heap in the under 500 dollar scroll saw category), $489.00 with a manufacturer’s rebate for a free stand and work-light. And to sweeten the pot, free shipping during the memorial day weekend. I got the okay from the boss to get one as a Tenth Anniversary present (she liked the Diamond/white gold earring I had made from my Mother’s engagement ring stone).

If you have been on the fence about this saw (I have been sitting there so long that I have splinters in my keester), I think with the freebies a person might hit the tipping point here.

New tool – woo hoo!

That sounds like a very good deal Doug. I’m sure you will enjoy it as I have met several guys with his saw and the really like them some have gone thru to or three brands before this too.

I don’t do any scrolling now having spent several years designing and cutting steel rule die boards before the advern of the laser.

Regards
Bob

hey Douglas, do you have a Rockler nearby? They have it for $449 with the stand and light through Monday. I don’t know about the free shipping though. It may be a wash if they aren’t offering that spiff.

Thanks for the heads up, Jeff. There aren’t any Rockler’s or Woodcraft’s nearby, so it’s a shipment deal one way or the other. Plus, it’s already in process. I just feel fortunate to have the little bugger on the way!

But obviously the deals are rife for anyone in the market for marquetry (sorry, couldn’t help myself).

Hi Douglas;

I’ve heard nothing but good about these saws.

Enjoy the new purchase, and happy anniversary.

I can’t believe that I missed this!

Congrats on the new tool! Er, I mean on the 10th anniversary! Yeah, that’s right, the anniversary. It should cut great. I mean 10 years-that’s great!

Are you buyin’ this at all?

Doug – I think you shouldn’t take advantage of your wife like that——geez—- diamond earrings versus a good scroll saw…. She got the short end of this deal. Earrings might look good, but that’s all they do. That saw is a diamond mine of creativity and workmanship. You need to get her something else to even out the deal. :-)

Jeez, Betsy – I got her the woodburning rig for Christmas, which she subsequently used to generate her first commissioned woodworking project (she got $125.00 – and incidentally the person that engaged her found us through a Google search for woodburning/Omaha which led them to good old Lumberjocks.com).

Here’s a look:

One present just to heighten her already considerable allure shouldn’t be that bad… ;^D

Oh, and Todd, like that Klondike bar commercial; you get a Klondike bar for reading the words “10th anniversary” within the paragraph with DeWalt 788 Scroll Saw in it.
