I have the same problem, except I keep buying it. It’s just to cheap to pass up, Even if I don’t need it, it’s only ten bucks, or three. Go to antique stores, you still see stuff to drool over, but it’s priced high enough that you won’t be tempted to go back and get it.

-- I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you. I'm sorry, thanks.

If they are still there when I get paid… I may swing by and add them to my growing collection of tools…

it gets worse. Once you’ve bought a set of the $40 planes, then you need the $80 planes, then you need the $160 planes…...see where this is headed?

I’m going to steer this slightly off-topic.

I WISH I HAD KNOWN …..

How much darned fun it is to use both hand planes and cabinet scrapers.

I’m just starting to use the scrapers, and only recently started using hand planes :-)

My shop is filled with great stuff I bought at re-stores and flea markets. Most of it was purchased for next-to-nothing. And the vast majority of it has remained untouched and unused since the day I bought it. LOL.
These days, I avoid flea markets and garage sales like the plague. I know if I see a workmate for $10 or a handsaw for $4 I won’t be able to resist bringing it home…......and placing it with the other 4 workmates and 20 handsaws I already have.

Have your say...
