Topic tags/keywords: ash arts and crafts question

Open for suggestions on the dimensions of the table top overhang. The top will be about 41” x 75” x 7/8”.

The Mission style ends are finished, see photo, and now the length and width of the under-structure needs to be determined. The table top will not have an apron around the edges and will not have breadboard ends. It will be supported down the middle by two long braces running between the ends. Is there a magic formula for calculating the overhang on the ends?

I think this is more of a design decision than a formula. You might try checking out some furniture stores for similar tables, and bring your tape measure.

Good idea Charlie, and I’ll probably end-up with dimensions close to my current plans but thought I’d check with the community for a “formula”. You never know…
