Well I think I am going to get a new to me saw it is an older model grizzly 3hp saw G0123S for $600.00
it has been well maintained and looks good runs well I will change the fence to a Bisesemeyer fence.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this saw?

Thanks guys.

600 dollar cabinet saw. Good deal. What does it have on it for a fence right now?

Little spendy for a Taiwan saw without a fence in my area,
but in your area it may be a good deal.

Just an FYI about the G1023S and that is that that saw does NOT have a riving knife, and as far as I know it is NOT retrofitable via Grizzly either. Don’t know if that is an important feature for you in making your decision, or not.

The ShopFox Classic is a biesemeyer clone, and if the fence is not missing then you may not be gaining much improvement…

The 1023S is a well proven saw. If it has a fence, $600 isn’t a bad deal….it’s not the best deal I’ve seen on these, but it doesn’t mean it’s not the best deal you currently have available to you (the phrase “bird in hand” comes to mind). If there’s no fence at all, I’d offer $500. Any pics available?

He talks about changing the fence, so i would assume it comes with something, maybe not something great although I would think most cabinet saws would come with a decent fence??

Most folks that sell things always mark up about 30% of what they will except. The secret is to show cash and walk away at about 30% under their pricepoint. I walked away from a Grizzly a few months back posted on CL for 300, twice! I had the money, but most people enjoy the thrill of the haggle. He eventually called me back…the catch was I pick up before he changed his mind and that meant fast. He kept asking me if I had ever owned one…weird. I guess people tend to pay more if they have an emotional attachment to a brand or item. I had to remind myself not to be that guy. Good Luck!

It does come with a Fence the Shop Fox but the rails are short and I have a Bisesemeyer fence with Long rails.

Did i forget to mention that it is coming with 100 board feet of Walnut I have looked the wood and there are some nice wide boards in the bunch.

will be picking up on Saturday I wish the week was over so I could make some saw dust.

Sounds like you have a good deal including the fence and walnut. I have had my shopfox for five years now and have loved it. I may get another saw before I die, but if I don’t, I won’t mind. Make sure to look everything over before forking over the cash. Hate to spend the money when there is a crack somewhere.

Good luck with the new saw!

@Fred Clarke – If all else, and you do go with a different fence, you could message me and I’ll buy the Shopfox fence from you. Good Luck and Score on the Walnut!
