I haven’t been woodworking very long and I’m still in the process of collecting the primary tools. Today I got this Delta X5 jointer (craigslist). I know, I know, I should have waited and got an 8” jointer, but after limping along for about a year without any jointer, this is a welcome addition to the shop.

That’s not a bad looking machine…I see you’ve already given her a test drive.

I bought a 2003 Delta X5 6” Jointer used and it’s a nice piece of machinery. The tables and fence are flat(enough).
It seems yours is different from mine. My outfeed table is longer than yours.
One of the things I really like about it is the knife adjustment. You don’t even need a knife-setting jig to set the knives. You just need an accurate straightedge.

I’ve got the same one. I like mine.
