Having trouble with the rubber band between the blade and and wheel. The top band slides back and the bottom band slides forward. the blade seems to be tight enough and it is not sliding. No mention of this in the manual.

A rubber band? Might need some pics to help.

If you’re talking about the tires on the wheels it could be that they are worn or the wheels are misaligned. I have an old Craftsman 14” from the 70’s. I contact cemented the tires on after they began migrating off the wheels. The blade runs true so I couldn’t figure out what happened to them. All’s well since then. I don’t necessarily recommend it for everyone though.

Found a manual online with more detail than the hard copy. The “rubber bands” are called wheel protectors. they do appear to be worn so perhaps replacements would do the trick. Will check the wheel alignment as well.
