I am thinking of selling some of my things on ebay. Has anyone tried doing this and if you have is it worth doing or not. Any advice would help.

I buy and sell stuff all the time on Ebay. Had a couple of hiccups along the way, but never anything major and never anything that couldn’t be fixed. I sold stuff and made out pretty well and found a lot of good deals as well.

Good Luck.

I have been selling on ebay since 2001. Overall a good experience and ways to get products out there. The commissions (Paypal and Ebay) are sometimes frustrating and you have to expect some minor problems along the way but still overall worth it. Ebay goes the way of the economy and things are a little slow right now but shouldn’t discourage someone from getting started with it.

If you are talking about selling tools and items of that nature, I have known people that do pretty well on ebay. If you are talking about selling your products, I would look into etsy.

Tried it for awhile. eBay buyers are like craft show buyers. If it is not Chinese bulk pricing for super high-quality work, they are not interested. I gave up after a couple of months.

ebay classifieds may be a way to build awareness of yourself to
a local market. In terms of selling fine woodwork ebay is likely
to be frustrating. If you’ve designed some router jig or something
like that you can manufacture, you’ll find you can sell it on ebay -
some product to facilitate some process in building guitars for
example.
