Topic tags/keywords: drawer dividers dust dividers

So I’m building a chest of drawers – I’ll have 4 columns of drawers divided by vertical pieces but my question is do I also need the horizontal dividers (there will be 3, maybe 4 drawers per column) or can I do without them?

How high is the cabinet ?
How wide and tall are the drawers ?
What type of drawers slides are you using?

It depends on what your planning on doing for drawers slides and what the measurement of your chest is.
Normally you install horizontal members in first.

You can do without them if your drawers can be held from the sides.

Drawers are to be held by side mounted slides and they will be about 15” wide. Although perhaps I should go with under mount slides which would indeed need them..
