One of the great joys of going to the Woodworking show is to spend time at the Lee Valley booth. They bring examples of all of their Veritas hand tools, a bench and various boards. Spend as much time as you like, try a number of tools and have a good time.
I got a chance to try a scraping plane, a low-angle jack, a medium shoulder plane and both of their dovetail saws (the ones with the composite backs).
Pure joy. The problem, of course, is that were I to acquire an example of each, I would be out about $800. It's a good thing that I don't need any more stationary power tools…
