Topic tags/keywords: question walnut finishing tip

Hi all i am almost to the finishing stage of a large credenza I am building. The piece is primarily black walnut. I was going use the sanding slurry method to finish it off to seal the pores. I have had some success with this method in the past but on small projects. Could anyone offer any tips on applying this to a large piece. my concern is that as I sand the runoff with go over the edges and I will be unable to get to that side before it is too far along in the drying process. I don’t trust simple painters tape for this. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
