Delta 28-206 14inch Bandsaw

Hey guys,

Thanks ahead of time for any help.

There is someone on Craigslist selling a delta 28-206 bandsaw. However he doesn’t have the cabinet stand. Just the actual saw. My question is, (if I can get it for the right price) would building a wooden cabinet to put the saw on, affect its performance?

and, after taking the saw off the original cabinet, are the alignments off for good?

Sorry for the beginner questions, fairly new to woodworking.

BTKS home \| projects \| blog 1916 posts in 1661 days #2 posted 522 days ago	The base is just a place for the motor to hang. The saw is idependent of the cabinet, just four bolts so it doesn’t tip over. Make sure the motor comes with it or a great price might not be so great. I am going to let it hang out a few days and see if he will take $200. Yea most of the money is in the motor! I saw on delta’s website, it’s almost $400 for a new one.
