Hey guys,

Thanks ahead of time for any help.

There is someone on Craigslist selling a delta 28-206 bandsaw. However he doesn’t have the cabinet stand. Just the actual saw. My question is, (if I can get it for the right price) would building a wooden cabinet to put the saw on, affect its performance?

and, after taking the saw off the original cabinet, are the alignments off for good?

Sorry for the beginner questions, fairly new to woodworking.

Thanks again!

Lumberjocks has been a great place for info.

see pics of my ridgid bandsaw base on my link!

it made my saw more stable and vibrate less.

The base is just a place for the motor to hang. The saw is idependent of the cabinet, just four bolts so it doesn’t tip over. Make sure the motor comes with it or a great price might not be so great.
If the price is right, the cabinet is not a big deal.

His first listing was for $400. Currently he wants $300. I am going to let it hang out a few days and see if he will take $200.

Yea most of the money is in the motor! I saw on delta’s website, it’s almost $400 for a new one.

Have your say...
