Confusing Outdated Information

William , sometime when the web site host do updates Information is thought to be updated so nothing is done by the management . Untill someone mention it is not working . Hopefully the management team will see this and correct the problem and let us know

Thanks hunter. I thought I’d put it here so that whoever is responsible for it (not sure who that is) would see it. If nothing is said withing a few day, I may send a private message to Martin or Ms. Debbie. It doesn’t effect me personally. I do think though that updated some of the help section would be a huge benefit to new members.

I know of what you speak William. The Team Member WAS Judi. I believe she left about a Year Ago.

I’m not really sure why they don’t update a LOT of Info on here. BUT! It’s their decision to do so or not.

One “Article” refers to “Just Launching Garden Tenders and shortly after Home Refurbers” , that took place in 2007.

Membership is quoted as 6,000 Members. An Error message I get reasonably often “Page Not Found,,,,Ooops” is dated 2005/2008.

Yes! I agree it would probably be of Benefit for New Members trying to Understand and feel their way around if All was up to date. Perhaps even a lot of stuff removed that is not Current.

HOWEVER. There are Two Areas that I personally go to on ANY Site, if I’m going to become a Member or use their Services such as Photo Bucket. I actually READ those sections. A lot of People do NOT READ them and they SHOULD!

”Terms Of Service” and “Privacy Policy”. They are about what YOU, can or cannot do on this or any other Site, and More IMPORTANTLY what the Site does with, and HOW it Handles YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION i.e. WHO they DO or DO NOT Share it with and MUCH MORE.

BOTH of those Sections on here are Dated Sept. 28, 2008. Perhaps their Content hasn’t changed. I somehow doubt that given the “Buy Out” etc.

In any event ….. I guess we just Enjoy what we have and let “Others” provide it, the way they best see fit.

I know it is confusing for new members. I personally invited a guy I know from a scroll sawing forum to join here. He did. He had trouble uploading photos through a third party site. He didn’t want to seem foolish by asking for assistance when the information was in the help section. He had no idea that the info there was outdated and had changed. By the time I found out the reasons he never posted anything to Lumberjocks, it was too late. He’d moved on and just wasn’t willing to try again.

yes, we know there is information that needs to be updated. The priority list is constantly being shuffled around due to one thing or another. Right now we are focused on keeping the site running fast and smooth.
