on line stuff I’ve seen is way too expensive.

I google saw mills and get most wood from nearby sources. Saw mills and lumber suppliers. One source is a hardwood trader. He does it by the ton.

You’ll always come out cheaper if you can find a local mill. But if you can’t, I highly recommend Steve Wall Lumber. Their 20 bf UPS packs are pretty reasonable, and the quality is excellent.

I have bought wood from Cooks Wood on Ebay. The only drawback is the shipping price. Whats nice is you can see the exact board your buying and get an accurately described of the wood. They have a lots of nice figured wood. I have not been disappointed with my orders.

Online I’ve bought some nice figured maple on ebay. Take a look at one of the quilted top guitar on my blog it’s off ebay. That’s all I bought lately, did buy a 8/4 by 10 inch wide 6 foot long and a piece the same size of lemon wood from an outfit in Virginia, but can’t find them listed any more.

I recently made a purchase from an ebay dealer –

It was a good picture and accurate description. It was quickly shipped. I will buy again from him in the future.

My favorite two sources:
Wall Lumber
Bell Forest Products
