After just visitng eBay I would ask about tools for wood lathe, or rather I’d phrase it better this way…. What tools “name/group” of tools would one steer way clear from ? Eg. Acme.. Only coyotes are dumb enough to buy Acme tools. That kind of stay away.

I have on my watch list a RAND mini wood lathe for 94.00 A Rand universal Steady rest for 22.95, a 3 jaw micro chuck with 1×8 TPI, 3/4” Wood turning lathe HSS chisel for about 16.00 etc and etc. A a COMPLETE probie, I don’t know Buck from Buck Morris so to speak. So just asking what to stay clear of.

the info might even help the “other” person stumbling into this thread.

I would give it a pass. It looks like square tubular ways that won’t be very rigid. I would say wait for something nicer.
