Hello Ljs,

I am making a sliding-door hideout organizer for my brother in law’s new house. The door panel is made out of veneer (one out of mixed variety pack) I bought many years ago at woodcraft. Just in case someone might ask what type of wood I used, I seek your help identifying this veneer.

Thank you.

My first guess would be Walnut Burl

It is difficult to see this but, since it is from Woodcraft, I agree is is probably American Black Walnut. I assume there is only a clear finish on it.

Dr. Ken, I applied one layer of Danish Oil and the color before and after is almost the same.
Maybe I will try a close shot if it may help.
Thanks Lew, Thanks Dr. Ken.

Masrol,
Now I’m not sure. Walnut doesn’t usually have that much “texture” to its’ grain.
