Topic tags/keywords: live chat

If using Chrome (on Mac)...... (if ur using a Window’s Chrome – then get into Preferences...and follow similar steps)

1. Open Chrome
2. Upper left hand corner, click on Chrome
3. Click on Preferences
4. On left, click on Extensions
5. At bottom, click on Get More Extensions
6. Search for SiteChat

7. Click and download
8. It will show up in upper right hand corner

Once installed, it turns any website into an instant live chat. So anyone who is browsing on Lumberjocks and has this installed can Live chat with anyone else who has it installed without leaving the Lumberjocks site.

Pretty cool.

I can just see the nuclear winter using this in the non-topic forum. HA!

Thanks D.A.

I know I ain´t the sharpest knife in the drawer … speciel when it comes to IT
then I´m the neanderthaler from the cave … :-)
so here is the dum questions …...do you chat on the site by typing the sentences
and can they be seen as if you post a comment on the blog/post
or do you talk to each other as if it is over a phone …......

I assume it’s a live type session

I got the download, but the steps were a little different for my version of Chrome (I’m using WindowsXP home)

1. Open Chrome
2. Click the wrench (on the right)
3. Click Options
4. Open Extensions (on the left)
5. Search for Site Chat
6. Install

I have it loaded, but not sure how to get a conversation going …

yes its a live chat session (with typing). When ur on lumberjocks you can click on that icon at the upper right corner, and it’ll show you how many people are currently on. Then you can type something in the message box. When there is a response a little 1 will show up signifying ONE response. If there are two responses, there will be a 2 shown…and so on…..

TMcG – no way to tell who is online. But if you click on the icon, it’ll show how many people are on. They are no private chat rooms. Anyone who is on can read the chat. So if someone types something up in the chat, a number will show up of how many unread messages u have up there.

Ahh, right, gotcha, there is the same type of facility on a fishing site I’m a member of.

Works really well for real-time questions
