There have obviously been some changes to the text program while I was away. For example, when I am writing some comments to a post (mine or other’s) and I have scrolled down to the point where my first lines are invisible to continue writing , and then I want to go back to the first lines to make a correction or change something, every time I make a key stroke the cursor returns to the portion of the text I was writing prior to scrolling up to make said corrections/changes. Is there a cure to this problem? I hope my explanation of the problem is clear. -- Mike, American in Norway |

Dunno what you are talking about but one thing I have noticed is if I manage to get a line started with a white space as the first character That line or subsequent paragraph often ends up being relocated by the gremlins in the monkey works to an off place in your post that makes you look more dyslexic disorganized and tangential than I really am. -- When the moderator chooses sides, his site sucks. |

Thanks for the humor cr1. At least I can have a laugh while waiting for a solution or alternatively finding out that nobody knows what I am talking about either (I’m not even sure I do at this point). -- Mike, American in Norway |

Hi Jim, I think it’s a glitch in LJ because I use Safari on my Mac. I’m not sure what a text editor is. Can you explain? -- Mike, American in Norway |

Man I I thought it was just me with the disappearing curser . What makes it show up again for me is putting my arrow on the review button , I don’t even need to click on it . But that just works till it disappears the next time . -- Anybody can break something it takes skill to make or repair stuff . |

I tried this but did not have the same problem. Is this a Mac browser issue? I’m using Chrome on Windows Vista. -- If you can't joint it, bead it! |

Mike A text editor is a separate program like notepad. I use something slightly different. I just write my note on a different program, and then copy and paste into LJ’s. It may have something to do with the browser or the operation system, meaning LJ’s has a problem with different browsers. It is not our problem, it is LJ’s. For awhile I thought it was just my system. But, since you are having a problem, it is more general. I have notified Martin. I suspect he will figure it out. There are constant changes in the programs used to make these sites, much of it having to do with security and virus concerns. Occasionally, there are unanticipated consequences. By the way, if you only write short comments, the problem will not appear. Right now, everything is working fine….........maybe it has already been fixed. I am trying to recreate the problem, and it is no longer there…........probably fixed. Jim -- Jim, Anchorage Alaska |

Thanks guys for the help, but it still doesn’t work for me. Once a line of text is out off site and I scroll back to it to change something every key stroke returns me to where I was typing prior to scrolling up. I will just write my comments in word when I am ‘wordy’ from now on and copy it to LJ. Dave I hope the blood doesn’t rush to your head while typing upside down. -- Mike, American in Norway |
