I bought the 1 hp Harbor Freight DC and plan on upgrading the bag to a minimum of 5 micron bag and am seriously considering the 1 micron bag. I am wanting to build mobile cart to pull around in my garage. I was wanting to incorporate a thein separator. I’d love to see some different DC carts to get some good ideas…..

Thanks in advance

If you can swing it, get the Wynn Engineering filter, rather than the bag. .5 micron, and it is more efficient.

Is that possible for the smaller models? I have the one in the link below. Decided to go with the smaller HF Dust Collector. I’ll prob upgrade after a few years.

Tyson;

Here is our HF 2HP DC with upgrades;

If it is not too late, you can get the 2 HP DC from HF for just slightly more if you have a 20% off coupon and get much better performance and a good platform to make several performance upgrades from.

If you cannot return you can still add a pre-separator to your 1 HP DC. Woodcraft (and others) have a separator lid for a five gallon bucket that will help a lot.

Other LJ’s have added shop built Thein baffles to improve performance also.

Good Luck!
