I hope this is the best place to post this. It is almost time already for the Baltimore WoodWorking Shop, it is held this year January 6-8 at the fair grounds in Timonium. I have not been to this show before but it looks like the Northern Virginia show is going to be even smaller then it has been since it is moving to Fredricksburg this year.

From just looking at the vendor list Baltimore sounds much larger.
Here is the Link to the show page.

Wondering how many LumberJocks were planning to go and if anyone wanted to catch up. I generally like to go to the shows on Friday but could possibly do Saturday instead. Hope to be able to catch up to some people.

I’m going but not sure what date yet. Either Friday or Sat.

Maybe I’ll see you there.

All, Looks like I am going to head up there on Friday. I am going to plan to get up there a little in advance of the opening and hang out until closing or a little after after as Traffic will be a bear coming back.

Hope to catch up to a few people there. If you are going send me a PM and I’ll let you know how to get in touch with me.

I just got a message from Chuck Bender . He is having a booth at the show. That would be a great place to meet up with one another.

I’m hoping to go on Friday. Has anyone here been to this show before and do the vendors have show only deals? I may have some cash burning a hole in my pocket.

Hey, what do you think of moving the show to Mid-Michigan? I would be happy to host it in my shop! And I could offer all the venison stew and snow melt water a woodworker could want!

Sorry, Karson. But after my Lions lost to the Packers last weekend I couldn’t bring myself to go to Wisconnsin.

The Baltimore show is one of the “Big Ten” shows. Which means that more vendors will attend.

Although I haven’t really built anything yet (still getting basic tool set ready), I will probably go on Sunday. For those who have been to shows before, how do prices from vendors (I assume vendors have things for sale like most trade shows) compare? Are they decent, discounted, inflated?

Any suggestions as to what I should definitely check out as a new woodworker?

I’m not sure which day I’ll get there but I do want to go meet with Paul Sellers. Lee Valley is supposed to have a stand there which may end up with me parting with cash if they have any show deals.

skeemer – The best thing about this show are the demonstrations. Everybody is doing something. Plan on taking your time so you can see as many demos as possible. This is the best place to get information about the tools you are interested in. The education dept has really expanded this season also. I would suggest you see as many seminars as you can. If you don’t even buy anything, or plan on buying anything, the show is worthwhile for the education you’ll get just by watching and listening.

Sorry: I’m not going to be able to visit Baltimore this year. The first in about 5 years.

My wife reminded me that that is the Family Christmas Weekend. All the family is getting together to have our family Christmas.
