Topic tags/keywords: lathe king canada king canada upgrade starter turning

Hey there everyone. I’m looking to upgrade the lathe I currently have in my shop. Its an old junker (though it still works… sorta) and I have been parusing the web for any sort of deals I can find. Not entirley sure if I want a mini or a midi but I found what looks to be a great deal on the King Canada 14×43 lathe at my local hardware shop. Regular price 740 on for 530 http://www.kingcanada.com/Products.htm?CD=29&ID=20771
The only problem is that I can’t really find any reviews or opinions on it. Does anyone have this lathe? or have any advice on a good starter lathe in the $400-$500 range
Thanks!

I would say keep looking, find a used one for that price range.

Any of the King tools I have seen don’t seem to be up to the quality of some of the other manufacturers. I bought a used General for a great price.
