I got my Christmas presents today.
A pair of cedar logs, 8’ long and 18” at the butt, 15” at the tip. They’ve been laying outdoors for about a year and a half, and there are a few bug bites in them, but I have to say….. My wife loves me and understands me!.

(of course, we all know she’ll be wanting something out of these).

Yeah, I thought so too. There are about 10 more of them where she got these but I have no place to store them … yet.
This is where I wish I still had access to my ex-father in law’s Wood-Mizer. As it is I’ll have to split these with wedge and edge and put them through my 12” band saw.

I’m sure other people in your area have b-sawmills. Get all the logs together. Work up a trade and split the the take.
Can smell it now.

A true lumberjock is the only person that could appreciate such a gift… dirty old logs piled in the yard. Gads, I’m jealous. You gotta good wife! ;-)
