I guess I never thought much about metal in wood other than avoiding man made objects. Recently I had placed a stack of the rare earth magnets on my table saw for a yet to be realized project. I was working with some 200 year old cherry and after I ripped several of the boards, i remembered the magnets and dusted them off with the trusty dust broom. The dust remained attached to the magnets! I was actually able to run the magnets over the table top and attract more of the dust. I found this to be amazing. Doesn’t work with regular old magnets.
