Okay so i have been rolling the idea around of getting dust collector and i one all picked out…but i started thinking about the connections to each machine. I have seen people use the clear flex tubes and i have seen people use PVC. Any pros or cons? Or maybe a combo of both?

Well, if your wanting to set up a stationary DC system thats gonna have ducts to each of your machines, your definitely going to want to run a pipe such as pvc or the metal HVAC alternative. I personally use sdr-35 which is just a light weight pvc at a cheaper price than the schedule 40 white pvc. The clear hose I also use but only to connect my sdr pipe to the machine thats close by. The hose really detracts from the suction of your DC, so you really only want short runs of it if at all possible.

The smoother the inside walls of the tubes, the better it sucks,
so with the flex hoses you’ll get better performance from the
ones that don’t scrunch up like a drier tube. The drier tube
style ones are the worst, but also the cheapest.
