Hey fellow LJ’s..

I just finished a chess board/box using Padauk and Birds-eye Maple for the board and Walnut for the rest.

Now I’m looking for an easy to apply finish that doesn’t take days between coats but is tough and long lasting.

My first thought is an oil based finished with a wax overcoat but then a wipe on poly comes to mind as well.

Need some help and input please asap.

WATCO Danish Oil, followed by paste wax.

Had my finger poised on that selection (Deft not Watco) at Lee Valley!
