Just curious. Anyone know of a way to keep Lexan or Acrylic from being coated with dust? I’m wondering if there’s a product that prevents sawdust from adhering to plastic so as to keep a better view of the cutting point. I just built a ceiling mounted counterweighted table saw guard that is mostly Lexan, but it does have a couple acrylic pieces to fill in where I ran out. The guard will have a 4” DC splice eventually, but I imagine that won’t keep it completely clear.

I am guessing that it is the static charge that is drawing the dust. Maybe some anti static spray?

P.S. This is just a guess

Anti static spray will be the only way I know of.

Don’t think it will really works though. Dust will bulid up on anything.

I figured as much. One can always hope, but reality is that dust is simply a part of woodworking. Grrrr. . . On another note, I’m having all kinds of trouble deciding how to mount the guard. I’m going to anchor it from he ceiling, but haven’t decided on how to make it telescope in both directions. Aluminum tubing, PVC, and Lumber should all work, just need to decide on a functional design. It might even be easier to side mount it. Hmmm.
