Anybody know what the a reasonable price per chisel would be, assuming they are in good shape?

I’m on the hunt for a good starter set of used chisels. Can’t find the marples with sheffield steel I wanted…so now I’m on to 750s, but I don’t have any idea what a reasonable price to pay is.

No idea about the Stanley’s. Look at ebay auctions. I think they
are more collectible than their quality merits. Lots of Stanley stuff
is that way, with the bargains in vintage tools found in less famous
brand names.

Sheffield Marples aren’t hard to get. Plenty on unused sets cropping up
at auction.

For example:

Chisels are pretty simple tools. You don’t need a set to get started, just
a few sizes.

Marked 750s are pretty much $25+ per chisel, assuming vg+ condition. At that price new Stanleys SWs are about 30 per and warrent a look. Good luck!

I have bought several 750’s on e-bay. Never paid more that $15 including shipping. You just have to be patient and keep looking.

Have your say...
