Edit: The dresser we are thinking about is made of Parawood.

So I’m building my son’s crib out of Mahogany and am planning on using a GF dye stain on it to get a dark tone. We need a dresser too, but there’s just no way I’ll have time to make one. We found a dresser made out of pear wood at an unfinished furniture store. Does anyone know how pear would take a water based dye and how it might look next to a mahogany crib? Thanks!

nobody ever replied, thats sad. Pear is nice wood, similar to Cherry. Shouldve stained just fine. Rubberwood has problems taking stain i hear. Did you ever stain it?
